CRISTO REI

The tour starts in one of the most south points of the island, where it stands the “King Christ” statue with open arms to the enormous Atlantic Ocean.

The views of the Funchal marina and the Garajau beach complement the great scenery.

MACHICO

From “Pico do Facho” viewpoint, the best panoramic view of Machico is found.

From the golden sand beach to the mountains, all the way to São Lourenço and Desertas islands. Certainly, a special place for peace and quiet.

SÃO LOURENÇO

Dramatic cliff formations comes together with the intense ocean colors for spectacular views and pictures.

You can see the north and south of the island at the same time from the most eastern point, and experience a spot of intense wind.

SANTANA

The typical Santana houses with so much tradition and history.
An icon of Madeira,
a masterpiece of work.

Go back in time and see the ancient lifestyle of the early years of the island.

Santana is also a nice lunch spot in the tour with possibility to eat in a restaurant.

RIBEIRO FRIO

Experience the smallest and easiest levada walk of Madeira, “Vereda dos Balcões”, 3 km and a majestic mountain view and bird-watching.

You’ll feel amazingly connected to nature.

PICO DO ARIEIRO* SUNSET

At 1810 meters above sea level, and above the clouds, with the sound of silence, is the most stunning sunset you will ever see.

The 3rd highest point of Madeira is extremely popular. Come and see it in the most quiet moment.

IMPORTANT: Pico Do Arieiro sunset is NOT guaranteed. It is sensitive to bad weather conditions due to the altitude of 1810 meters above sea level. Luckily, we have live webcams in Madeira, which we will check and show you right before going. If the sunset is not visible due to clouds and fog, we will hunt for the sunset in another awesome viewpoint.

DESCRIPTION

Experience the breathtaking beauty of Madeira Island with our “Sunset East Tour.” This unforgettable journey takes you to iconic spots, starting with the Cristo Rei viewpoint, offering stunning coastal views.

See the historic town of Machico from above, followed by the dramatic cliffs of São Lourenço. Savor a traditional meal in Santana together with a visit to a charming Santana house.

Immerse yourself in nature on the Vereda dos Balcões trail, and cap off your day with a spectacular sunset at Pico do Arieiro. Join us for a memorable adventure through Madeira’s eastern wonders.

SCHEDULES AND DURATION

The tour has a length of 7:30 hours from pick-up to drop-off. The sunset time varies during the year from 18:00 to 21:20. Therefore, the pick-up and drop-off time will move accordingly. Being the earliest in winter and the latest in summer.

The pick-up can be between 10:00 and 13:20. This is perfect either to have a relaxed slow morning, or another short trip in the city before. Also, we will avoid the big crowds of the earlier tours! The drop-off can be between 19:00 and 23:00.

PICK-UP / DROP-OFF LOCATION

To start this adventure, we will pick you up at the comfort of your accommodation. Currently, only accommodations in Funchal and Caniço are possible for this specific tour.

If you are staying outside these areas, you are welcome to arrange a pick-up point with us inside the areas.
